Eindhoven, 18 April 2014
Eindhoven Airport has been voted the most popular airport in the Netherlands by visitors to the authoritative consumer website Zoover.nl. Speed, service and atmosphere are three key reasons why passengers increasingly prefer to fly from Eindhoven Airport. Over the past year, the number of passengers has risen by 10% compared with 2012 and by 15% in the first quarter of this year.
Last year, Eindhoven Airport opened its brand-new terminal and hotel. The new construction consists of a modernised forecourt measuring 2,000 m2 with additional retail and catering facilities, a 2,700 m2 extension to the arrival hall, 2,700 m2 additional office space and the 120-room Tulip Inn Eindhoven Airport hotel. The terminal has been completely refurnished in order to be more customer-friendly and to speed up passenger services.
In 2013, Eindhoven Airport also launched a Facebook VIP programme, a completely revamped website and on-line parking service in order to further improve the assistance given to passengers in preparing for their flights.
According to Managing Director Joost Meijs, “We are of course really proud of the fact that Eindhoven Airport was voted the Most Popular Airport in the Netherlands in the consumer poll. Winning the Zoover Award is the ultimate compliment for everything we have done over the past few months to make passengers feel even more at home. It is deserved recognition of the work that all the airport personnel have done.”
The number of destinations in and outside Europe from Eindhoven Airport has been expanded to more than 70.
