Eindhoven Airport saw the number of passengers grow by 15% over the first three months of 2014, compared with the same period in 2013. From January to the end of March it handled 682,000 passengers – 88,000 more than in the first quarter of 2013.
In January to March 2014, 671,000 passengers travelled on scheduled flights from and to 52 scheduled destinations. In 2013, the total was 585,000 passengers flying to and from 50 destinations, representing a 15% growth in this segment.
The number of charter flight passengers rose by 36% in the first quarter of 2014, to 10,000 from 7,300 in the same 2013 period.
The number of general aviation passengers fell by 19% (970 passengers in the first quarter of 2014 versus 1,190 in the same period last year).
During the period January to March 2014, there were 5,700 aircraft movements, which was 7% more than the 5,304 recorded in the same period in 2013.
Over the whole of 2014, Eindhoven Airport expects to achieve growth of 10%, reaching at least 3.7 million passengers (2013: 3.4 million passengers). The number of aircraft movements over 2014 will total 28,900 (2013: 26,508 aircraft movements).
