Eindhoven, 7 July 2014

In the first six months of 2014, Eindhoven Airport realised a passenger growth of 18% compared to 2013. In the period between January and June, 1,823,000 passengers used the airport, 279,000 more than in the first six months of 2013.

The growth in the number of aircraft movements in this period is 10%, there were 13,962 aircraft movements between January and June 2014 versus 12,640 aircraft movements in the first six months of 2013.

Over the whole of 2014, Eindhoven Airport expects to achieve a growth of 13%, reaching at least 3.8 million passengers (2013: 3.4 million passengers). This is a positive adjustment compared to the expectation of 3.7 million issued previously.

The number of aircraft movements over 2014 will total approximately 29,000 (2013: 26,508 aircraft movements).

The passenger growth of 18% is the result of the increased number of destinations offered; in the first six months of 2014 flights were carried out to 67 destinations, 4 more than in 2013.
In addition, the average aircraft capacity is slightly bigger than it was in 2013 and the occupancy rate per flight has also increased.
