Eindhoven, 15 April 2014 – With the high season fast approaching, Eindhoven Airport has decided to make parking even easier for its passengers. From today drivers with a Parkmobile account will be able to pay for parking at Eindhoven Airport without having to get a parking ticket. Together with Parkmobile, Eindhoven Airport is introducing number plate recognition to its car parks.
Number plate gives access to car parks
The advent of ‘smart’ number plate recognition technology means that drivers no longer need a parking ticket to drive in and out of the car park. . A camera in the barrier recognises the Parkmobile user’s number plate and opens automatically. The driver can also leave the car park immediately without having to pay at the ticket machine first. Parking costs are paid to Parkmobile automatically at the end of the month.
“Joost Meijs, Managing Director of Eindhoven Airport: “As part of our efforts to improve customer experience, Eindhoven Airport is pleased to offer its passengers and visitors a fast, innovative and easy way of parking. In this way, together with Parkmobile we can offer our customers an extremely convenient parking experience. The fact that this makes us the first airport in Europe to offer ‘mobile parking’ shows that we respond in innovative ways to our guests’ wishes.”
Eindhoven Airport & Parkmobile offer unique service
“Parkmobile is enthusiastic about Eindhoven Airport’s move to introduce this ‘smart’ and straightforward method of paying for parking. With Eindhoven Airport as Europe’s first airport to link up with our technology, we hope to be able to convince other airports of the convenience of mobile parking,” says Ronald Bijl, Sales Consultant for Parkmobile.
Number plate recognition is available in all car parks at Eindhoven Airport: P3, 4, 5 and 8.
Car owners who wish to take advantage of ‘smart parking’ at Eindhoven Airport need to obtain a Parkmobile garage token (key ring) first. This ensures that the car is recognised and that the barrier is raised automatically when the driver enters or leaves the car park.
