- PRESS RELEASE -

Eindhoven, 6 January 2014

Eindhoven Airport ended 2013 with a passenger count of 3.4 million. This is a 14% increase over 2012 (2.98 million passengers). In 2013, 3.23 million passengers flew to point-to-point scheduled destinations (2012: 2.80 million). This growth exceeds 15%. The number of passengers flying a charter flight to a holiday destination decreased by 5% to 157,000 (2012: 166,000). Other air traffic ("general aviation") decreased by 14% to 7,400 passengers (2012: 8,500).

One important cause of this growth is the increase in the number of scheduled destinations: at the end of 2012 there were 45 scheduled destinations; this number increased to 53 in 2103. The average load factor for all of 2013 was 128 passengers per flight, an increase of 4% over the average load factor of 123 passengers per flight in 2012.

In total, 26,508 flight movements were recorded in 2013, an increase of 9% over 2012 (2012: 24,265).

In 2014, Eindhoven Airport expects 10% growth in passenger numbers, so 2014 should reflect 3.7 million passengers. In 2014, the number of flight movements is expected to grow by 9% to 29,000.
