Poznań is a city in western Poland. It is the fifth largest city of Poland and is situated on the river Warta. Poznań is an important city in the area of trade and industry and is also a real student city. As for culture, the city has a lot to offer as well. Poznań has a rich history that is still fully reflected in the many monuments and beautiful houses of the town.

Most historical sights can be seen in the historical centre. Besides the monuments, the Old Market Square, the cathedral and town hall, there are many restaurants and cafés.

If you are a museum and music lover, then do take a look inside the Museum of Musical Instruments. This museum was founded by Zdzislaw Szulc, a real collector and specialist in the field of musical instruments. The museum has everything, from pianos to instruments from different cultures, such as African drums.

Another special museum is located in the Górka Palace. This palace was built in the 16th century and was then used as a convent and school. Nowadays, it houses an archaeological museum with various finds from Poland, Sudan and Egypt. Furthermore, do not forget to visit the medieval city hall. Here you will find the national museum, which reveals the history of the city.

Trade events

Poznań is known for its international and national trade fairs which are organized in the city every year. Specialist fairs such as POLAGRA (food) or BUDMA (building materials) are among the biggest events in Europe in these sectors.
